I just finished reading about this! It took place on 25th August 1912 when Prince Gabriel Constantinovich and other members of the Imperial family went to Borodino to celebrate the great victory over Napoleon in 1812. Where he comments: "there was held a service in Borodino field after which old men-peasants of one hundred were introduced to the emperor as the Borodino Battle contemporaries. Some of them were said to be false because they were much younger and had nothing to do with the Borodino Battle."

Actually I'm not sure. If I remember correctly Igor was with the Tsar and Tsarevich at Stavka during the war, but honestly I don't know, where this picture was taken - there or somewhere else...

Yes, this photo is taken in Stavka. Igor Konstantinovich is wearing here special white aiguillette of HIM N-II suite. Igor was enlisted in N-II suite in 1915 and all that time accompanied N-II. That's why photo is taken about 1915-1916.

Here is one that I sanned in from Nicholas and Alexandra the Family albums Ioann and Gravil and be seen towards the right. Could someone please tell  me who put his arm around Gravil and the names of the people in the background. I know that Nicholas II is in their with I think Grand Duchess Olga (sister)
