The rest of our allowed to settle in the vicinity of Vologda. Knowing your kindness to our family and remembering your heart involved in heavy grief that had befallen us in Vilna, all my brothers and I humbly ask the blessing of Your Holiness and hope you will not refuse a humble request to pray for us before we are deeply honored by Moscow shrines. yes, Sebastian is a descendant:

KR--Ioann--Catherine--Fiametta--Sebastian

He was present at the 1998 reburial of the Imperial Family. His grandmother, Catherine, was born in 1915 and only died in 2007. She was the last remaining Romanov who was born before the Revolution and her death marked the end of the male line of the Constantinovichi.

So this Sebastian is the only descendant of KR?

http://vk.com/the_house_of_romanov picked it up from that site. Some of the words on there from Vera K. come from Gavrill's book "Memories in the Marble palace" but I don't know about these ones by Igor.

The Life and Times of Igor Konstantinovich

Hi All,
I've been off this forum for a couple of years, but the thirst for knowledge has brought me back! I have been surprised by how difficult I have found it to find genuine, documented accounts of the life, character and personality of GD Igor Konstantinovich. All the information about him seems to be pertaining to his death, health complaints (pleurisy, etc) or service in WWI. If anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!

this is my favorite branch of the family but like you said, little is to be found on Igor in his siblings. I do know that he was the most of outgoing of his siblings and spoke too loudly often. He was present when Oleg died. Six months after his brother Oleg was dead he and Gavrill and Konstantin went to visit his grave on Ostashevo where the family wintered. Because of his illness he was not aloud to return to the front after recovering from pneumonia but went to the emperor because he didn't know what to do if he couldn't go back to the war and hoped to be an aide to the emperor. He was good at turning conversations and was able the get the tsar the make him one. At the front he spent time with Alexei the heir on the bank of the the Dnieper playing games. There are photos of these such days. Once while playing tennis at the Head Quarters he dislocated his foot and was kept in bed.

It's not much information and I'm always looking for more as well. I sometimes find interesting sites by searching his name in Russian.

Thank you, Duchess Hydrangea! I followed your excellent advice and found 2 great sites, one which had information on Igor Konstantinovich, and one that listed accounts and info on the life and death of his brother Oleg, including a poem that he had written. Would anyone like me to post the links?

This is the Wikipedia page for Sebastian Arcelus. He is the son of Fiametta, who was the daughter of Ekaterina Ioannovna, GD Ioann Konstantinovich's youngest child ;)

Ok lol I'll post them anyway, just in case anyone wants to look at them in the future.

http://ostashevo.cerkov.ru/romanovy/igor-konstantinovich-romanov/ - This is a site about Ostashevo Church, where GD Oleg Konstantinovich is buried, but it has a long and detailed page dedicated to Igor.

http://zapadrus.su/2012-04-11-14-59-43/2013/400-let-dinastii-romanovykh/757-knyaz-imperatorskoj-krovi-oleg-konstantinovich-romanov.html - A very long and detailed page about the life and death of GD Oleg Konstantinovich

http://pravprihod.ru/includes/periodics/all_news/2013/0426/000020589/detail.shtml - Another page for Oleg, which gives a very detailed account of his death, and includes the post-mortem picture of him.

Konstantinovichi fans, enjoy!

It's quite an obscure subject, but does anyone know if any of the Konstantinovichi Grand Dukes (sons of KR), when fighting in WWI actually killed anyone?
