I´m not sure if the first word I translate correctly into English, but I think it would be "Emperor´s daughters, Their Imperial Highnesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia"

In this photo,  who is the man next to Anastasia and who are the little boys between Alexei and Tatiana?

Flower Day movie

Hi everyone, I have recently come accross a video on Youtube of actual footage of the Romanovs, and in it there are scenes taken from what I think is Flower day, but I'm not sure what year. If anyone can help to identify it that would be great.

Here is this video, in case you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG2Hec_8Vzc

The flower day scene occurs at around 2 minutes and 38 seconds in.

Thanks again!

It was White Flower Day in the Crimea -- 1912.

What is Anastasia doing in this picture? It is very puzzling, maybe she's performing some bizarre ritual? :-\

Could this possibly be an Ouroboros the ancient symbol for eternal return & resurrection. What better person to be inside other than Anastasia, the one who will rise again. With all her mystic connections doubtless she would have known its meaning ?

That's a very interesting thought, Carisbrooke. Although, I very highly doubt this photograph was meant to be representative of anything so metaphorical as "eternal return". She was still a child.

What's your question about it? It's a pretty well known photo--taken sometime during the war years, on a balcony. There's a fuller version of it somewhere.

I've heard they are cherries but I'm sure that was just a guess. They may be right.
