Do you know how old these plans are Brian?  The drawings are wonderful.  Tell us what you know about them and the Peterhof also.

A

these are Rastrelli's original designs.   they're from a very old book (the pages are very brittle & break easily) of Rastrelli's architectural drawings.   i found it years ago, but unfortunately the book's binding fell apart shortly thereafter & i lost both covers & several pages.  i have no idea what the title was or when it was printed...not that i ever knew what the title was, as it's in russian (cyrillic) and at that time, it might as well have been in martian, for all i knew.   but it has his designs for the Winter Palace, Petrhof, the Catherine Palace, Hermitage & other buildings at Tsarskoe-Selo, the buildings of empress Elizabeth's Summer palace complex in St Petersburg, and several others, as well as designs for buildings/palaces/pavillions/etc that were never built.

The title of this book (with strange green pages) is
Denisov Yu., Petrov A. Architect Rastrelli. -Leningrad, 1963.

thank you very very much!     i wonder why the paper is so brittle, i've got a few other books from russia that were printed about the same time, and the pages are still holding up fairly well.    the texture & thickness of the paper is definately different and is more along the lines of a small "folio" type book, rather than a typical book type.   perhaps that would explain it?

again, thank you very much!   ;D

The only place I've seen that picture is related to the chapel in the Catherine Palace. Here is the link, but it does not give a specific site. I wonder if it is an anteroom to entering the chapel.

When you put your cursor over the picture on the web site mentioned, it is labeled: "The Palace Chapel. Choir Loft. Detail. Photograph. 1998"

План Нового дворца Э.Голлербаха.
The plan of the New palace of E.Gollerbaha.

В каких комнатах может быть такое расположение двери и окон ?
In what rooms there can be such arrangement of a door and windows?

Л.Примаци возможно изображение перевёрнуто на 180.
Probably the image is turned by L.Primatsi on 180.

This is not a Catherine Palace Interior, but the Billiard hall of the Alexander Palace.  The watercolor you show is reversed.  To see the correct view of the watercolor and other pictures of the Billard Hall, go to

http://alexanderpalace.org/palace/marble.html

On the plan you posted it is Room 4.
