We're probably clear on this by now but the baby girl in post 292 is overwhelmingly, and classically,  little Tatiana. And definitely cute.

I think same. It was taken at Livadia in spring of 1914. You can see the mountains behind, and is that the Black Sea seen behind?

Prince Nicholas of Greece, actually, although I can see why you'd say Ernest of Hesse! They both look very similar!
I'm sure there is some photos of TN with Ernest taken at that time, though...

The man in Ekaterina-Nikolaevna's two photos is indeed Prince Nicholas of Greece. The man in the photo I posted is Ernest of Hesse .
TN looks to be in the same outfit, so it's likely they were taken the same time. I believe this was in 1899...and TN looks about two.
oh and adorable ....one has to add =)

Thanks for pointing that out Talya . . . I hadn't noticed. Yeah, I'm sure Nicholas II wanted to start a new "thing" - keep your daughters in a birdcage! Especially if they're adorable as my Tatiana is! ;)

Oh my, she was so cute!! Now, I have a question - my hair is CURLY. And it is naturally like that - it had been all my life. But whenever I was one or two and I look back at family photos, my hair always stuck up around my face - sort of like an afro, except in a cute, baby way. You know, little ringlets. Anywho, Tatiana's looks really curly, like mine was, but did she grow up to have curly hair, or was it just in early years? I've never really been able to see, although I suppose there could have been some waviness in some of the photos . . . or maybe it was just the wind?

I was thinking when I saw that birdcage, omg that is Tatiana size!! ;D their hair curled naturally, I believe it was Alix that said that when she described the girls hair in 1917.
