She looks like a happier copy of Alix in her younger years. I also think that is Olga

It is Olga´s portrait by Kaulbach. There is a different one of Tatiana (often labelled as Maria, because itdoes resemble Maria more than Tatiana).

This is Tatiana - at least that´s what we agreed upon in a discussion long ago.

Oh, the portraits are beautiful. Even if they have not 100% resemblance...thank you for posting.

She does look like Maria, I agree, and for a long time I was convinced it is Maria. But it would be illogical to have two sketches of Maria and none of Tatiana.

Are these drawings still in Russia? If they were removed from their frames, who is who could very well be noted on the back of them.

I think it is Germany too.

I am agreed.

But what if we had not seen real Tatiana's sketch? Though on one side, am agreed with you. Maria resembles to Olga rather to Tatiana.

Where would that sketch be then? And why would Alix hang portraits of her husband and children into Maple room (I think they were there, correct me if not), and not include her favourite daughter?

True, but there was a sculpture of Tatiana as a baby and a bust of Tatiana in the Mauve Room.

Rather than just  looking at the features, it might help to look at each child's expression. Then what is thought to be  Olga, appears more as Olga and what is said to be Tatiana, appears more to be so. Art is not photos and sometimes the artist changes features a bit. They would not do Olga's childhood forehead in all it's glory! lol! But that pleading expression is characteristic of Olga as a child AND characteristic of newspaper drawing I have seen of her from round this time ...also I can see a typical Tatiana  expression ( her eyebrows were very expressive! )  in the other.

I think I've seen that bust, Condecontessa. It did resemble her and was interesting to see. Does anyone have a photo of the baby one?

I agree, blessOTMA...I always admired how fine and sensitive her eyebrows and whole face were. And I laughed at the "pleading" look of Olga's...you're right
