Is that the title of the book?  Who is it edited by?  Where did you find it?

I believe the book was translated and printed by Gilbert's Royal Books.

Hi Sarah
Gilbert's Royal Books is selling it, but the publisher is Librario and I don't think PG has had any involvement. The translations are done by Karen Roth, who is a Danish speaker (and also knows Russian) and is - I think! -

J

My understanding is the translation Gilbert's Royal books had made was from the Danish articles rather than the original manuscripts that this one is done from. Also, in the end they were unable to publish their translation due to copyright issues...so we are looking at two different projects here on the same work.

IMO this book is identical, just different global points of sale.

The publisher is indeed Librario. Released at about the same time, it comprises 220 pages with the same softback cover listing identical credits that are printed below the image of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna and Gatchina Dvoretz.

Bourbon-Orleans is published by Rosvall Royal Books, and he has never sold his books through Amazon. His books are published in liimited edition.  It would be better to cancel the Amazon order, and order the book from Hatchards or van Hoogstraten,

Yes, confirmation that amazon UK are now shipping this item, have received my copy today. Still no sign of Bourbon Orleans moving though.

Aloha from Kaua'i!

This is actually one of the books I purchased from Librarie Galignani in Paris a couple of weeks ago!  They had so many Romanov (and other royalty) related books it was unreal!

I haven't started it yet, but it looks very good - I have high hopes for it!

AlixZ> I ordered mine from the same eBayer. I just got mine yesterday, so I imagine yours will come very soon :D

All> I haven't had the opportunity to read this, but just from looking over it, I am VERY impressed. The presentation looks clean and readable, and HOLY COW pictures!! (Both in colour and black and white) I have never seen so many photos in a memoir-like publication. Wonderful!! Not all are new, but there are two or three that I have never seen before. This really seems like a must-have for any Romanov reader. Just my $0.02. :)

Ordered mine from the same eBayer as you and AlixZ and finally received it today. I haven't begun reading it yet, just browsed through it, but it looks to be an amazing read!!

Hey Guys,
I was taking photos of another book, and thought I would take some shots of this one while I was at it. Just so everyone can get an idea of what's included in this awesome publication.

Being completely unfamiliar with Russian language, I have a question:
I notice on the inside front cover is a sample of the Grand Duchess' handwriting.  I saw her son's name, Tikhon, written in our alphabet.  Is that usual practice, for someone whose first language is Russian, to write a Russian name in our script, instead of the Cyrillic script?  IIRC, even Nicholas and Alexandra, who corresponded in English, substituted Cyrillic script for Russian names.  I was just curious.

Still haven't gotten mine!  I have corresponded with the seller and they think it is lost in the mail.  They have promised me that they will send another, but as of today, it is still not here.      :'(
