A book will be published at the end of this year which details exactly how Fransciska pulled off the fraud of Anna Anderson. You won't need the DNA testing to see how clearly the fraud was pulled off...

I didn't read the James Blair Lovell Book even though my teacher was going to force me to, and I may not read this one.  But maybe I will, becasue I want to know how she knew all that stuff about the Imperial family.

The thing is, the guards were drunk, but some one had to be sober enough to count bodies, so they either killed them all, or all survived.  Anyone who knows this stuff well knows it would have been impossible.

This book must be a real sensation if it really reveals how it all happened! How Franziska did it. I very much look forward to it.

When  I was a kid I believed the Anna Anderson story.  Of course I also believed that life is fair, your friends will never gossip about you and a lot of other nonsense.

I've grown up slightly since then.  The book sounds interesting.

The funniest thing about Anna was that she could speak perfect Polish and very bad Russian.  H-e-l-l-o.......wasn't that a BIG tipoff from day one???

I can't answer that at this time.  First the actual title is not yet determined and secondly, I have been asked not to until a firm publication date is set.

I have been permitted to tell you that Greg King and Penny Wilson are finishing their book about how, without the DNA, Francisca became Anna Anderson and "pulled off" the charade.  They fully admit that their previous position was wrong, and they gladly explain how and why they changed their opinion after examining the new evidence.  They are also using my translation of Spiridovitch...I've been asked to read and comment on the manuscript and can tell you it is an excellent book.

So it´s king and Wilson!  Then I know it must be a good book. Well researched and everything you can ask for. It´s fascinating that they have been able to solve this great mystery about Anna Anderson.  I wonder what Peter Kurth will say? I hope the book will be out before the end of the year.

Geez, I could rattle off this stuff all day to my former friend, but she'd still not believe mewhen I tell her Anna was a fraud.  It was amazing, we never really agreed on anything and got along fine, but then we fight about Anna Anderson, she starts acting mean to me, and we break up.  I should have never let her read a book supportin Anna Anderson as her first Romanov book.

i believe allot of people who haven't done a research on Anna Anderson like we did, believe she was the real Anastasia. Mostly because of all the fiction that was published in the last one-hundred years.

And some people who studied this case and still think that Anne Anderson was Anastasia should finally admit their defeat.

It's nice to dream and think they escaped but sadly it's been proven now they all were murdered and that Anna Anderson was a fraud and a very unwell person

There are still many other stories of people and Romanovs who did manage to escape and live.

Any news of the book?

Yes indeed if you go to Find A grave and look Anna Anderson up there is messages left to her by many who believe she is Anastasia.

I was a sceptic from the time I first heard of Anna Anderson, for a number of reasons, the first and most obvious being that the execution squad would in my view have made very sure that they were all dead. Plus her story had too many convenient gaps in it, and she didn't have the languages (I'm not qualified to assess her proficiency in Russian, but in later life her spoken English was far too broken and heaviliy-accented for someone who had grown up speaking it). The more I read about Anna Anderson the more convinced I became that she was a fraud, and what came to interest me was how she managed to fool so many people.

I will admit that it came as something of a relief that DNA proved conclusively that she was an imposter, because there would have been a terrible injustice had she been genuine.

As it happens, I am in the midst of reviewing a novel where Nicholas is shot in Ekaterinburg but Alexandra and the girls are removed to Perm (fate of Alexei unknown). It is the latest volume in a huge family saga and this is one of several sub-plots (a family member has fallen in love with Olga). It was only published in 2009, so unless in the next volume (obviously in production), Alexandra and daughters (and possibly Alexei) are returned to Ekaterinburg and the bodies of all but two put in the same pit as Nicholas, Dr Botkin and the servants, I am distinctly unimpressed.

I think one could easily be swept away in thinking Anna was legit.

In a case like this, where bodies are found many years after the murders, where two are still missing (until recently of course), when myths and legends exist...coupled with the knowledge that the Russian government has time and again proven to stoop to the level of fabricating evidence...it's quite feasible if one considers only these ideas that Anna was indeed Grand Duchess Anastasia.

Do I think she was? Of course not. I happen to take into account the evidence against her as well as my personal feelings.

I'm just trying (for some reason unknown to me, lol) to defend the naivety or perhaps "logic" of Anna's supporters.

Also, Anna didn't speak English very well.  If you see old interviews with her, when she felt like giving one, her English was always broken.  In her final years, her husband, John Manahan, did most of the talking when they were interviewed.

The real Anastasia could speak English fluently.  All of OTMAA could, it was taught to them by Alexandra (although German born, Alexandra spent much of her youth in Britain.  Her Grandma was Queen Victoria, after all).  If it truly had been Anastasia, she should have been able to speak English without any trouble.

AA once claimed that it was the trauma of seeing her family killed that made her forget English (and Russian).  Yet, this same trauma allowed her to learn TWO new languages, German and Polish!?  Right, and I've got this bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell you.

Of course, the DNA results totally debunked her claim.  Yet, some still cling to the idea that AA was Anastasia.  Of course, some still cling to the idea that Elvis is alive.  Some people will never be convinced, no matter how much evidence you can show them.
