Would the boys be Ludwig and Georg Donatus,Olga's Hessian cousins?

Thank you, Rodney G. and Miki Nastya, for clarifying.  It's nice to know for certain who the two boys are.

With Aleksey

Great photos, Clock! I think that Wishnyakova and Derevenko are in the photo too.

I recognized Derevenko, but who is Wishnyakova? Obviously the woman, but was she a lady in waiting or something?

Olga holding...Maria?

I believe it´s Anastasia. Olga´s look matches the 1901 formal photos.

Maria Wishnyakova was Alexei's nanny. She was accused for being in a relationship with Rasputin.

Empress Alexandra has been vilified for dismissing M. Vishnyakova. The reality was the opposite. I reveal it in my forthcoming book on the Winter Palace.

What a fantastic photo!  I've NEVER seen this one before.  It's so hauntingly candid, I can't stop looking at it.  I love the Empire chair - so prominent in the photo.  And the coats Olga & Tatiana are wearing; are they not those we see in the famous 1916 film clip of the four grand duchesses gathered around their father with a horde of officers at Stavka?

New to me as well...thanks for posting Ally!

And speaking of candid I find the empty chair an oddly symbolic metaphor as well. The confused Tsar, the resigned Empress and concerned looking daughters with no one in command of their dwindling empire.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right...
