I'm planning to visit AP this year and hope to see this station.

Helen, I saw elsewhere on here where you had given superb directions to this station.  Thanks!

Scott, you have some real amazing shots that capture the sheer devastation of this once splendid building.

I think that was me, actually. But Helen verified that my maps & directions were correct, which is very important since I've never been there myself! ;)

I'm sorry, Sarushka!  It was both you and Helen.  And maps, no less.  Not bad for someone who hasn't visited yet.  Color me envious!

Another fascinating investigation by the writer of the Children's Island. It is of the Imperial railway route from St. Petersburg to Tsarskoe Selo with many contemporary photographs of what remains today:

Joanna, Iam new to this site and don't post often but the links to the sites of the old Imperial Station and the Tsarskoe environs are fantastic! It causes a lump in my throat to see these beautiful historic buildings in such condition. It may be just the time of day that some of the photograpy it is almost magical/mystical. Thanks for this.

Tyumen, I also feel as you. Having stayed in Tsarskoe Selo for so long, it is to love the people and town. Walking in footsteps of history are treasured memories. The survival and restoration work by so many are inspiration. Of the sites, I am in awe of these photographers and writers. Their work is beyond what I ever imagined to find and it is thrilling to know that more will be written.

Thanks, Joanna for posting these. I don't think the rails are there any longer, if I remember correctly?

Helen, it is as you remember. The pavilion close to road isolated among surrounding fields. I have not read closely yet of F. Ragin's writings on the Imperial railway but he may indicate year tracks were removed. The same in the area behind the Palace hospital where single line tracks were c1914-1917 and are now gone. Pushkin tourism has stated of the restoration of the Imperial railway but I am not sure of the location.

You mean they will rebuild it some place else?

I am not sure of the actual plan. I think it is to restore the pavilion but will the track be from Detskoe Selo line or through Alexandrovskoe? There has been no development yet at the pavilion.
