the irony is that President Kaczyński wasn't at first invited but he insisted to go there anyway...
He wasn't invited for the ceremonies at Katyn last wednesday as that was an event on Prime-Ministers level,not Presidential.
PM Donald Tusk was there and that was what was planned.
So,nothing special there although it is no news that the now deceased president wasn't much respected outside his own country,
yet no-one in his/her right mind would wish for this to happen.Not even CNN,they threat this news as if it is theirs as if all news
originates from them........
What is a tragedy is that all those onboard that darn Tupolev 154 governemt aircraft,came to commemorate the murders by
the Russians of the elite of Poland in 1940 in Katyn by order of Stalin,something they long denied under communist rule.
Now,this tragedy again takes the lives of 96 of the elite of present day Poland .
The latest statements by the officials released a few minutes ago says the pilots were summoned to fly to Minsk instead
of landing at Smolensk due to the heavy fog there,but they flatout refused and insisted on landing at Smolensk after they
already had attempted to land there and went for another try and came in way to low.
With heavy fog,and on a darn over 20 year old Tupolev 154.That is asking for trouble.Incomprehensible that a modern,
and western,country as Poland still uses these flying coffins,in government service even.
Now,the Chair of the Sjem,the Parliament of Poland,Bronislaw Maria Count Komorowski will be President Ad Interim untill after the elections later this year.
