What's On The Menu Tonight At Your Place.
« on: April 13, 2010, 03:13:52 AM »
I thought about all the different cultures at this forum and how interesting to hear about the different types of meals we all have.
Something fun, but very different, as what I would claim to quite a boring meal may be gourmet to you.
Here goes,

Well tonight I DON"T KNOW what's on the menu as we are going to our son and daughter-in-laws for dinner.
Now that could be different.
Will post tomorrow what we ended up with.

Bon Apetite!

Cool, we were already having this discussion in le thread français, of course :-)

Yesterday I had poached pollock with boiled cabbage, onion and lingonberry jelly.
Tonight I will have Kassler (salted cut of pork rib), probably with boiled cabbage and a raw carrot.

What's lingonberry?

Tonight as said in earlier post we ended up having butternut chicken and rice.
Followed by chocolate mousse and a nice bottle of red.

What's lingonberry?
Quite similar to cranberries. NAOTMAA might have known them as Брусника.

Yesterday I had Magret with armagnac and pepper corn cream sauce with sauteed garlic potatoes and spinach. I quaffed some really lovely Cote du Rhone with it!
I had a generous hunk of Stilton and a couple of water biscuits afterwards!

I do not eat puddings!

Everyone's putting down all this delicious-sounding and elaborate stuff! I'll probably just have some toast or something, or a sandwich.

Yum!
What sort?
I'm going to make a vegetable soup on the weekend. I just love the aroma wafting through the kitchen.

Why don't you usually have dinners?
Do you have another meal throughout the day?
I'm sort of dieting too. Always.
