Last Pictures of Anastasia

Only one was taken in Tobolsk--the third one.  The others were taken at Tsarskoe Selo.

Maybe Maria was the one doing the photography. It is true there seem to be less photos of her during their captivity than of the others.

This photo appears in the book "The private world of the last tsar" edited by Paul and Beatrice Grabbe (the original photos are by General Count Alexander Grabbe), page 148. The text under the photo:
"The Grand Duchesses look playfully from a window of the governor's mansion (1916)". The governor's mansion is not the one in Tobolsk, but in Mogilev, where Nicholas II had his headquarters. He was living in the governor's mansion there, sharing his room with Alexei. His family (including the grand duchesses) used to visit them sometimes.

Does anyone have any 1917-18 photos of Anastasia? There is one in particular that I am looking for. Anastasia is standing on the right of Olga. It looks like late 1917 early 1918 because they are dressed in winter clothes. If anyone has any info on this picture PLEASE tell me!   Thank You!

  Yes she does seem to, but I wish it wasn't so cloudy so we could see her face better.
To me, that last picture doesn't even look like her. She looks so different. Even if her hair were longer, it still wouldn't look like her.

Surely the last picture of Anastasia is the one of her on the Rus' with Tatiana heading to Ekaterinburg - there is also one of Olga and Alexei on the same occasion.

I think it is too. Was this "last picture" taken in Tobolsk? I remember seeing the Rus picture in Kurth's book. If the ''last picture'' was taken in Tobolsk then it is certainly not the last picture of Anastasia.

The picture is indeed of Anastasia in the girls' room in Tobolsk.  There's a photograph of her in profile from the Rus trip; I guess that'd be considered the last photograph of her, though you can barely see her.

Hey! This is my first post. The reason Marie wouldn't be in the photos is that Nicholas was told to go somewhere (I can't remember where, exactly). Alexei at the time was really sick, and Alexandra had the dilemma of choosing between her husband and her son. In the end, she went with her husband, taking Marie with her, and left Olga in charge of the household, Tatiana in cahrge of Alexei, I think, and Anastasia to cheer everyone up.

Note that it was during that time that Nicholas was forced to abdicate, and were taken to Ekaterimburg. When Alexei was feeling better, he, Olga, Tatiana and Anastasia joined them....

Yes, but she would only be absent in photos taken in the couple of weeks they were seperated from each other. Most of the time in captivity, the family were all together.

Its a painting, i think, i don't know who did it, but it was inspired by the fmaous photo of the Tsar on that rock. I think, i could be wrong.

Maria and Olga look awfully painted in the background. I have no idea if it's a really bad "touch up" or is indeed a painting  :-/
