Grand Duchess Maria in Hawaii!
« on: May 09, 2010, 05:00:43 AM »
I knew that would get your attention!!!!

  :) :)

Anyway.........,

beeing the shy retiring type,
I don't often make general announcements, but I thought this was worth the effort.
The Grand Duchess, and I won't argue with anyone..,  you can call her Princess if you want,  attended numerous functions with the Hawaian  Royal Family, in Hawaii,(Honolulu) during her trip to America in late April 2010.

There was one function in the Royal Palace, and another in a private club, and others in private facilities.
Never having been a student of Hawaian culture and history, I was deeply impressed to hear that Hawaian and Russian contacts were quite lengthy, and I was even more shocked/amazed and bedazzled to hear that the Hawaians regard themselves to have been invaded by America, and that their system of Goverment was overturned for the American system of republicanism!!

I dont want to stir the pot of course......(much),
but I was wondering what the community's thoughts where, and, I will post photo's of the event in the next day or so!

There were a few of the daughters of Nicholas ll in bathing costumes but they were lithe.  In this case, i havent and I should send her a note  to keep up the good work.  Mrs Hohenzollern's  self proclaimed title of Grand Duchess is highly contentious among the members of the Romanoff family that I have contact with and her ambition to become empress of Russia is a bit out of wacki with most Romanoffs who believe that a constitutional monarchy is not in keeping with where Russia is going.

Sorry to trouble you all again,
But, I have just spoken to a friend of mine who is an Emeritus Professor of Constituitional Law.(no name dropping)
He believes that the invasion can be legally challenged in the House of Lords.

Now.........
I know the U.K has some issues at the moment, but is anyone interetest in testing the waters?
Our friends wont be asking for a fee, its more of an honour thing, if you get my point!

God Bless the King(or is it Queen?) of Hawaii.

Konstantinoupoli, athelfe,
And you know I mean that!

There is no need for you to send her a note, she already knows your thoughts.

Also, you calling her Mrs. is inappropriate, as she is divorced.

Now,my turn...

I have always believed that GD'S Xenia's descendants were the rightful heirs, by blood, of the Imperial throne.
There is a young lady in Athens somewhere, called Xenia (from memory).
Anyway,
I was a friend of the late Lieutenant Commander Michael Romanov, R.N.
grandson of  H.I.H Grand Duchess Xenia.
( i hate typing, all this upper and lower case drives me insane)
:)
Prince Michael Andreevich asked but one thing prior to his death,
and that was, to help unite the family and to right past wrongs.
I am not an ecclesiastic, nor an academic, nor a historian,
but ,

when the Vice President of the Romanov Family Association tells me, just 2 days before his death, that after this generation is gone, it will all be left to Georgyi, what in heavens name do you want me to think or do?
The Church, the State, and most parts of the R.F.A now aknoweledge that Maria and her son George are the closest to the throne.
It might not hapen, but he is closest to the bullseye.

Ilias.
And I too have Romanov friends (living)

And i believe that the gap is insurmountable and that noone has the right to call themselves the heir to a non existent throne until the disputes are resolved to all family member's satisfaction.  As none of the current claimants were descended from the previous Tsar and none from the penultimate Tsar, then we are talking about a highly contentious state of affairs where they have no or almost no right to call themselves Grand Dukes or Duchesses according to the last laws that existed in Imperial Russia.  The best and most harmonious state of affairs would be to accept that noone is heir to this now imaginary throne and avoid pretentious contention or take a vote among all family membvers to see who they think should represent them.

Hi,

Slightly Off Topic:
Didn't Maria Vladimirovna go to San Francisco to attend a church service for some saint's relics?

I agree.

Meanwhile, and straying a little from Maria Vladimirovna, I am aware that there was a King of Hawaii in the 19th century, but what has the Hawaiian royal family been doing since then?
