Watercolours of Alexander palace [exterior]
« on: December 14, 2004, 10:39:23 AM »
Hi everyone! I always found watercolours to be the most accurate depiction of the palaces since photos from the times before destructin and revolution are black and white. Does anyone have watercolours of the palace? I'd appreciate it a lot!

Aside from the F.Teykhel anyway.

The first one is on the cover of the exhibit book I bought at the Nicholas and Alexandra/Alexander Palace Treasures exhibit this year in Newark, but it doesn't say the artist, just the title; Garden Facade of the Alexander Palace.

Don't know if anyone has seen these before, but I'll post them:

Not exactly a watercolour but an etching of the Palace exterior and area around in 1873-74 years. Looks quite different from nowadays.
