Books Available at Yusupov Palace
« on: March 28, 2007, 12:45:06 AM »
Last year the Yusupov Palace issued two wonderful books (in Russian):
1. Kukuruzova (director of museum). "Richer than Romanovs?"
2. About the ordinary life of the palace (kitchen, toilettes etc.)

All mentioned book are available only in the palace's shop, I suppose.

Has anyone heard of this book before? Does anyone have information on it such as where it can be found and what it's about??? Is it just a family history with text or does it have pictures?

That is an edition of the Yusupov palace (on Moika). I have an English version of the book, and highly recommend it to anyone who are interested in the history of the Yusupovs - very good text and rare pictures (I had posted some of them here in the Forums). But one can buy the book ONLY in the bookshop of the Yusupov palace on Moika - I had a chance to get one of last copies and a shopgirl told me that she had not heard anything about  further re-edition. :(

Thanks Svetabel! I gues I should buy it then! I wasn't sure I should given how I had never seen or heard of it before. Wasn't sure if was the 'real' thing. You're lucky for getting an english edition. I think this one is in Russian, so I'll have fun translating.  :)

I can't seem to find anywhere online which sells these.  it looks like one of those books you can only get in a very few places...

Exactly.I've seen only at the Yusupov palace on Moika (at bookstore) and some bookshops here in St-Petersburg.
