with a lot of IF's

if alexei hadn't been born,or if alix had given birth to another girl, or if she had miscarried

could the revolution have been sooner due to the lack of an heir?

just a thought

Hard question , and even harder answer, because it is one of those 'What if...' questions. All of us ask those questions, simply because we think some bad things might have been avoided, if such events hadn't taken place. I only can say 'Maybe'.

I think the revolution would still have happened, no matter if Alexei had existed or not.  The politcal forces that led to it had been building up for a long time, longer than Nicky was on the throne.  He was just the poor guy there when it finally blew up.

remember that THERE WAS A HEIR  nikolay`s brother mikhail.he was to ascend the throne if aliandra hadn`t given birth to a boy.the throne wouldn`t have been left unoccupied
