Robert Massie says in Nicholas and Alexandra that Marie had brown eyes.  Greg King says in a post
on kingandwilson.com that her eyes were blue.  Which one is correct?

They look brown in the portraits with which I am familiar.  However, I know of instances in which dark
blue eyes look brown on film except in extreme closeup. It may be the same with color reproductions of portraits.

I have been wondering the same thing about her height. She was quite small. I'd assume 5ft3 going by photos?

Yes. I think they mixed up the miscarriage with Alexander. The fact that there is no photo of Alexander complicated things. Even her sister Alix posed in a photo with her baby son Eddy.

There is a photo of Alexander. It's been reproduced several times. I think it's a post-mortem shot of him surrounded by flowers with a little cap.
