Royal Romances
« on: September 16, 2010, 09:42:45 AM »
"Royal Romances "  were  printed by Marshall   Cavendish  and came out fortnightly in the UK  price  £1.95
each issue concentrated on some royal romantic couple... perhaps  Fergie and Andrew  or   Emp Franz Josef and Empress Elizabeth.
Packed with lots of colour illustrations  they  were wonderful magazines/booklets....  I have perhaps 15 or so myself... a truly great series of publications
and of course... with all of  history to go at  theres  no end of  subjects and Royal Romances to pick from.

In German they are called "Königliche Romanzen" and I do have all of the magazines. Today you can easily get them on flea markets- the best ones are about Nicky and Alix, Mary Vetsera and the Crown Prince of Austria, Sisi and the Emperor and so on- they do contain often very rare photos and portraits, plus they do come out with great facts and not well known once.

WONDER how many there were in the series ?  I must have around  13  of them
they are too good to throw away, so they often appear in charity shops  etc

Well, I have 30 magazines and I have been told that they were 30 ones published. So I think I do have the whole collection. Some of them very really hard finds to get them later on.

Scanning? Where to? Herein? I m sorry, I m not good in such things, my husband and sons do know it much better. :) And I have never placed photos in a forum, nor pimped them up with photoshop or something like that. And I think it would not be okay to copy photos in here in fact of the copyright of authors and so on. But I m not sure about that.
Sorry, I m a technical idiot. :)

I've heard for 'Royal Magazine'. I'd like to have one, at least that of Nicholas and Alexandra. Though I've seen it somewhere. Yes, it would be nice to see them scanned.

Marshall   Cavendish  have done some wonderful  magazine  series over the years...
often sold weekly  in newsagents... though Ive not seen so much in recent years...
maybe this kind of  magazine is no longer viable in todays world?
