The conversation was not known in its entirety. When Ella brought up the subject of Rasputin, she hit a brick wall. Ella said saidly "It might be better had I not come." Alicky said icily "Yes". She called for a motor to send Ella back. They never saw each other again.

I thought that quote came from a book… Give me time to look for the website where I found it.

I wonder if Ella knew that Rasputin was the “only one” who could cure Alexei (or the one whose prayers for Alexei could be heard by God). If she did know, maybe, she would have not asked Alix to let go of Rasputin.

To Ella, Rasputin was pure evil. She once complained she cannot pray for some reason, and somebody saw Rasputin slip into the church. Ella only began to feel peace again once he left. It would seem that even his presence was disruptive to Ella.
