Tatiana and Maria - relationship, similarities, differences

It could be! Having lost all my books & web pages, i can't say nit exactly; but i can have a look at the site, maybe the layout "awakes" my memory 

Look at the "Story" link on the left and you'll see her bio : ) There, these sentences are written:

Another common thing between them is they’re tall compared to Olga & Anastasia. We know that Tatiana was 5’8 (175-176 cm) while Maria followed her height closely being 5’7 ½ (173-174 cm).
IMO, there’s no doubt they were so close to each other, however, it is just not so obvious since we haven’t yet seen all pictures of their albums & read all their journals and letters which can prove their real relationship.

I knew they were tall - but so tall? 
Maybe it's 'cause i'm only 1,59 m and here i'm considered "normal" - they sound soo tall! My husband is 1,80 m (i'm sorry, i only know the metrical system - in europe, except for Uk, we don't know yours, so sorry) and he seems tall to me - but he's a man.
Oh, sorry, i'm OT- i know there's a thread about it; but i was really shocked! Maybe i just don't think Russians are easily taller than mediterranean people

You aren’t off-topic since you’re also referring to the height ; ) Btw In European metric system, Tatiana will be 1.75-1.76 m while Maria will be 1.73-1.74 m.
Tatiana and Maria were tall because of their genes. The Romanov dynasty is almost German due to marriages with German houses, starting with Catherine the Great. And I think Romanovs from the 17th-18th centuries were also tall ones, so Russian blood + German blood = more genes for tallness. Their mother Alix was also tall, the same height as Maria. Although Nicholas (1.68-1.70 m) cannot be regarded as a tall one on their standards, his father Alexander III was a tall man (1.64 m or taller). Their grandmother Maria Feodorovna’s Danish family also has tall ones, (even though MF wasn’t considered tall).

They could all be rough or what is considered "girly" at a given moment.

I think all of us (girls) are like this, too, depending on the circumstances. No matter how feminine we are, we can also act like a man—which proves that God created men & women equal : )

they're tall to me anyway  "little" for me is something like King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy (1,54 m) or my collegue, at work (1,41 m)... in fact i always believed Anastasia being something like 1,50 m  or 1,55 at the most - being described as very little. When i found out she probably was 1,58 (am i right? i just can't remember exactly) i tought: "That's no being little!" 
So thank you so much, i've always been very interested in otma height!
BTW, i tought Alexander III was much taller - 1,90 at least - as he was described as a giant... was he really just a bit taller than me?

Both were called the beauties of the familiy but in a different way. Whereas Tatiana was the exotic beauty, Maria was said to be more "a typicall russian beauty".
