I'm not sure about how large a us pancake is, but i perfectly know how big a russian bliny is: largest side, ca. 10 cm. It's not so big, but SIXTEEN bliny for breakfast... how HUGE was Alexej's stomach???
I ate bliny for breakfast every morning when a lived in Peterburg - i liked them best with jam - but not more than 4 with a cup of good tea! And i've always thought to have a great appetite...
