Maria Quotes

I'm looking for any interesting quotes said by Maria. You can post either single quotes or exchanges between her and another person. They can be funny, serious, weird, whatever works. Thanks!
I'm back on my bull****.

From letters:
My darling Mama! You told me you'd like to go to the holy communion. You know I also wanted to go at the beginning of lunch. I hope you will have a nice drive. When we come back from the private house, Mengden, the friend of Sofia Ivanovna, she looks like old Baba Yaga. I kiss you many times and Papa. Anastasia sends you a "kiss." How I would like to go with you to communion the 14. God bless you, Your Marie (10 may 1911)

I congratulate you, my darling Papa, with victory. Today the four of us went to church with Mama. We had lunch alone and then went in the train with the wounded. We went to see Ania and had tea with her. (1914)

This morning we are going for a walk, as it is warm. Valia Dolgorukov is still not allowed to see us. Greetings to others. I'm so sorry I was not able to say goodbye. You must be very sad to leave Tobolsk, such a pleasant house etc; I remember the cosy rooms and the garden. Do you play on the swing, or has the plank already broken? Papa and I kiss you lovingly my dears. May God keep you. I send greetings to everyone in the house. Best wishes and a safe journey, if you are already leaving.Your Maria

“…Anastasia and I usually play big tennis in our classroom throwing the ball against the wall when we are at home. Of course, we knocked down a lot of things but did not break anything yet…”
—    Grand Duchess Maria to her father, Nicholas II. 28 November, 1915.

"Dere!  I've eaten it all up!  You tant det it now!"

Defiant, , ashamed, and yet somehow  innocent and adorable, all at the same time.

When the girls were babies there was some kind of illness going around the nursery, and Miss Eagar told Maria that it could spread by getting coughed on by someone who was sick. Maria promptly ran to baby Anastasia and cried, "Cough on me, baby darling! Give the illness to me instead!"

Was that amazing or what? That selfless reaction is not so very natural in an adult, much less in  a little child. I mean,  who takes on another's illness? I know: Marie , who was preternaturally good. An angel whose wings were already fully-formed.
