Not so hot today ... have any of you ever felt that you were invisible? A non-person?

Yep, very often when i was younger. That's why i created my own world of imaginary carachters & i began writing (expeacilly about the IF - that's why i'm here).
BFG i don't know your age, but i can tell you things were bettere for me growing up a little (i'm 24, so not a real grown - up).
But mostly i was a non - person because i lived in a family were my parents were sometimes too protective and other times forgot me. It was like a swing, you know...

Sometimes I do feel invisible. Being one person in a highschool full of other people older than you can do that to you. I'm probably the youngest person in my grade, because I skipped 2nd grade, and some people don't take me seriously because of that. It doesn't help that I'm pretty quiet, aside from the whole "Glurby" incident. (At our school, sometimes students help out teachers, and these two help out my English teacher. Their names are Glenn and Kirby.... You can see where this going can't you? :) Anyways, me and my friend Alexis (its a girl, not a boy Alexis.) couldn't tell them apart, so we called them Glurby to remember them by. Once our class learned of this, we became semi famous. ;D )

Adults think I'm invisible too sometimes. Like my mother, who thinks she has to explain every little detail to me if I miss one word. Then I say "I'm not stupid, you don't have to explain everything to me!" and she is like "Oh, I know your not stupid honey." and all this other baloney that you could easily make up. The sad thing is, I have a higher IQ than her. My dad takes me a lot more seriously though, so it balances out better.

That's my rant for the day! :D Sorry, I just had to get it out!

I know how you feel my grandparents tell me things i already know and i always respond with "What am I stupid?" or "I knew that i'm not stupid!"... oy-vay! It's like thank you captain obvious!

I'm super pissed off. My stepfather, said somethings about the Imperial Children, that i found so offensive (saying stuff glad their dead and that Russia is better off without them killing them was good for russia etc, even though it was been 93 years). when i said to him "Don't make fun of the dead!" he said "people make fun of Hitler, so what the difference!" there is a big difference, the Imperial Children were innocent young people killed because of their Royal Heritage, while Hitler was a mass murderer!

I swear sometimes i think his an atheist!

but insulting the dead innocent children? that are also saints in my religion i found so offensive!!

Mandie, please don't assume that all atheists have no respect for the dead.

I entirely agree with you that slandering the dead in this way is monstrous, but I don't think it has anything to do with religion (or lack of it).  It is just a matter of common human decency.

I might call myself an atheist, but I have a great respect for the Romanovs, and I deplore such facile and unimaginative responses as is shown by your stepfather. I respect all beliefs, and I truly do respect your feeling for the family as saints.

Can I add something? Just a personal thought!
I agree with you DNAgenie. I can tell you i'm very religious; i'mn Catjholic, so, for me, NAOTMAA are not really saints (Orthodox &Catholics have some saints in common, the ones of the first years of Christianity, but nowadays the 2 Churches have different way to make someone a saint and don't recognize each other's) but i feel something very deep for them. I don't PRAY them, but i often speak to them in my thoughts. I love history, and i've studied&written of other real people, but i've never felt anything like that - i don't know if it's becase they're saints or whatever, but i can someway feel them - that, for me goes beyond respect, is something special.
Just to be a little OT and tell you what i feel!
Anyway, DNA, you're right. Unrespect for deads has nothing to do with religion. There are religious people who don't respect deads.

Sorry i didn't mean it that way at all.
I meant by calling him an Atheist because he can be very harsh when it comes to religion, Exsp towards Christianity, which am I. like any other person, religious or not.
I found him very offensive and i, stupidly, didnt think it over what i wrote and that i'll may hurt some people's feelings.Anger can even lead to hurting the innocent without thinking.  Very Sorry about that :(, please forgive me.

I think that respect for the dead is essential, regardless of the religious ideas of each. Respect is always necessary. Mandi, is very understandable your anger, It is very normal that you feel hurt. To finish, to wish Sunny a speedy recovery of cold.

I'm doing pretty good. Had a lot of drama going on with some of my friends for a bits, still kida going on but not really.  ::) I hate drama! I accidentally, yes it really was an accident misunderstanding whatever, skipped one of my classes. English. I got there and there was a sign at the door saying class was canceled. I thought it said it was for out class some of the writing was kinda smallish and what not. Check all my e-mail accounts and got on the schools site nothing from my teahcer about it. I wasn't the only one who thought it was cancelled though, so that makes me feel better to know I wasn't the only one to not show up. Lol. Oh well, I didn't miss anything anyways.

I think he hates Russia in general. because his grow up during the early years of the Cold War and until 1991, Russia was no friends with the US.

My family, expt for my Aunt Cathy and I, doesn't really like Russia.
