Been in bed since Monday with this horrible reaction!
Kitchen is a mess, can't eat much - starving!
Tuesday night son and hubby cooked me dinner - yuk!
Hubby bought dinner into me with his so he could sit and eat it with me while I scratched and then wanted to take a photo of me. NOT a good idea as the itch had by then gone into my scalp so I had my hair pulled back like a sumo wrestler's. And he thinks I look funny?! I was in agony, my eyes had swollen, ears, neck had swollen through the glands, so I started crying and could only eat half my dinner whilst he finished his and I made him delete the pic.
THEN last night we were supposed to go to a movie premier but as I couldn't, hubby decided to take one of our sons. He said he'd get some dinner out - not to worry about cooking for him - like I was going to between itches. WHen he left I had a shower and nearly fainted as I hadn't been out of bed for 3 days and was weak from not eating not walking around, SO I text him to get me some relief tablets at a late night chemist. Yes of course he bought them home but also gave me a Hungry Jacks box which I thought was going to be something I coud eat. It was empty - he thought it was funny, so I locked the bedroom door and made him sleep on the lounge. I was still hungry.
This morning I was vomiting and faint but drove myself to the dr's (he's not a Carlos), and got different creams and medication for my rash. Feel much better.

Oh yeah me too and I believe I will.
I asked the dr this morning if I should cancel our cruise on the 21st Aug, but he said I'll be fine in 3 days time.
From 11am to now I've noticed a big change and not itchy.

Thanks Tim

Oh I'm so sorry Lindelle! At least now you should be better soon. And to think you had a perfect excuse to go see Doctor and were on able to get to Brazil.  :(

Lindelle--your rash and itching sounds like it could be Angioedema.  I suffer from this condition, although it's been good lately.  You get itching for no reason, sometimes rash but the more you itch the more you swell up.  I've also had the swelling without the itching in my lips, eyelids, fingers, toes, even my throat, which can make it very serious.  If you want more info just ask; but maybe you should see an allergist and get tested.  Good luck!  Hope you're feeling better...

She said in an earlier post that it was an allergic reaction to some antibiotics, so unless there have been some new developments I think she knows the cause, but I could be wrong.  :)

I guessed I missed that, trouble.  I always worry about swelling; incidentally, when you're swelling, it's fluid leaking from your blood vessels and that's what makes the swelling.  It can be very painful.  I often think that that's a small taste of what Alexei experienced when he had an hemmorhagic episode...

Its all right. Well hopefully its not nearly as painful for you as it was for Alexei.

Of course, today there are treatments that didn't exist 100 years ago.

That's true, plus what Alexei and Bonnie have are 2 different things.

Well...my day started off good, had breakfast pizza, it continued to be good....until a few minutes ago. I'm the only one still up (it's about 12:04 at night here now) and my brother had just gone to bed. And that's when it all went down hill. There was a bat flying around our house!! At first I thought it was just a bird, still didn't want it in my house. So It flies past me out of our living room into the kitchen and I think of what to do. I come up with run into the bathroom witch is right by where I am. So I run in there and close the door after a few seconds I open the door a bit and look out to see if I can still see it flying around in the kitchen. I can. So I grab my cell phone on the table right by the bathroom and text my brother telling him there's a bird in the house. I was going to get my mom and dad, but to do that you have to go into the kitchen/dining room where the bat was flying around. So my brother comes down stairs sees it flying around sees me peeking out of the bathroom freaking out and says "Amber that's not a bird its a bat." then I proceed to tell him I don't care just tell our mom and dad a get it out. So he ends up going after it with a broom and I'm hiding in the bathroom. He got it out and now here I am.

Ah bats, our winged friends. I had a similar sittuation in our house, we have a masive fig tree next to our house so when ever the seasons good, their buzzing around. Not so pleasent, cleaning their leavings of my car, it takes a while.

Thanks for the info bonbon, but they did a test today and the reaction was to the penicillan, so no of those for me and the treatment is working BUT the symptons are exactly as you described. I've scratched that hard that my thighs have bruises.
But now am healing really well. It's scary though isn't it?
