Why? Body issues? Just think of it as your duty to give your class mates a reality check! Just think of yourself like a Russian peasant who shows Nicholas and Alexandra what the world really looks like.

And if they look more perfect than you, it's their fault that you look bad. Like the Romanovs, they have taken all the ressources, all the power, glory and fun and just left you with junk and opression.

Long live the revolution!

I just love going to the beach and showing off my fat body and reminding people how awful they are opressing me! In your face, Your Well-born Skinnyness!

I have to admit that I'm not really sporty and I hated school sport (especially gymnastics)! *embarrassed* (but I'm not fat ;-)) Winter depresses me somehow. :-( But I'm looking forward to going back home next week. :-)

I was fat and bad at sports, but loved gym classes. What I have become very critical of, is how a fair number of people get marginalized from team sports, which are so important for social cohesion. Every time I hear of some sad school massacre or other such signs of the decay of Western civilisation, I am reminded of the role team sports could have played. Not speaking of the obesity epidemic which also could be the fall of Western civilisation.

Yes, as you can guess I feel a lot of entitlement! (Everybody has the plight to see my body naked!) Perhaps that's why and how I can relate to the Romanovs! :-)

My problem is that I am incredibly uncoordinated when it comes to sports that involve catching, hitting, throwing, or kicking a ball. =]

I'm too! But hey, it's just a game, it's not meant to be deadly serious, it's meant to be fun! If I were the gym teacher I'd put all the uncoördinated kids in a separate group and let them play against each other.* I'm sure they would have a blast! And they might actually improve their coördination, something which you can't do if you never get an opportunity to handle the ball in a game.

* With proper instruction! Why is it that all gym teachers think everybody knows all the rules and moves already? A Spanish teacher doesn't expect that all the children have learnt Spanish at home so he just can start speaking Spanish with them!

And yes, a hardcore coach would probably say that uncoördinated kids should practize on their own untill they've progressed. But the thing is, if you never experience the thrill of actually playing, you'll not be motivated to practize! It's just the same with reading: If the first reading material you are presented with is the King James Bible or Shakespeare or something else waaaay above your level or in a foreign language, you will not be motivated to learn to read, because you've never experienced the thrill of reading.

(Actually, the motivation to learn to read is probably way stronger, because even as a kid you understand that reading is just not a nice pastime like playing ball, but something you need to know in order to function in society, especially in a computerized society. So yes, we should feel more compassion for analphabets than for those who miss out on playing ball, even though in some cultures, especially for males, one can argue that it's hard to function socially without playing or having played ball.)

Sunny--doing any better today??  Said a prayer for you.

Countess--my kids in high school just finished their finals for the trimester; my daughter in particular puts so much pressure on herself she wasn't sleeping or eating well; so glad that's over for now.  Hang in there!

So sweet from you, thank you very much ^^ Yeah i'm a little better these days, but i've so many problems at work, it's stressing... but i know everyone has his own problems...
And you all, out there, are you better today?

You're telling me it's been two weeks and he's STILL not wanting to see a doctor?  I mean I don't go to the doctor that much, but if it's been around THAT long...
