Well, just noticed your discussion and I must smile a little about it, for some time ago I ve noticed here that Bob had bought photos of little Alexis, which were 100% not Alexei.
I ve contacted the seller you mean and the photos are so rare and great, it would be better to notice that there are jewels at ebay for sale. The photo belongs to a series of four ones of all the girls and I suppose they were made in 1916. I have bought one of the seller of Marie in a lovely dress and even showed it to a Russian Historian- he stated the authencity.
What I find ridicilous is still the fact that you sometimes feel like know it alls here and copy photos from books, etc., when I even told you that people/members from your forum (still active ones) were the ones who sold copied photos at ebay of the Romanovs or made them up like Cabinet ones and so on- you all did not really care. Yes, they did it, okay.
But where did they get the photos- from this forum. I find it strange, cause you even copied photos from the seller herein, often to show how rare they are- postcards etc. But this is not the place for attacking others, copying photos- it s sad that you justice others without thinking nor accepting the possibility to be- just think of Toni Becker- Brachts Grand Daughter who found the letters from her to the tsarina and the photos- what a great find! And you did not really notive it here.
I feel that I have to be honest, cause some friends of mine were members here and quit due to all this and because you do not really accept newbies nor other opinions, but from my side as a Historian it s my duty to behave like that and state that the offered items are great finds.
Look at the true fake sellers- there are many who copy postcards and sell them as photos- what uninteresting items they do sell!
It s not my intention to offend anyone here, then please excuse, but I just wanted to state this here.
