Alexei's favorite color?
« on: July 13, 2010, 11:41:55 PM »
What was his favorite color? I don't think there were any threads like this for the tsarevich. I think blue.

Hmmm. Not sure. I don't recall ever reading any information about the heir's color preferences.

Virtually all the photos I have of Aleksei show him wearing military-style clothing -- sailor suits or khakis -- which doesn't allow much of any choice in color.

Hm.... You're right. It seems as though all his outfits were predetermined. Oh well, at least if someone find any clues, this thread will be here. :)

i would have said blue, cos he's a boy, but that's biased, cos I ain't a boy and I have a male acquaintance whose favourite colour is pink. Either that or green. Alexei, can you hear us? Speak to us! I have spoken!

Back then, things weren't so biased like today. Sometimes a little boy could wear a pink outfit and a girls a blue one. Nowadays are all in exagerating pink outfits. I don't like this fashion a bit. When I was a girl, girls would wear different kinds of dresses, with little flowers, polka dots, and different kind of ginghams. It was not all pink.

Yes. Of course a girls favorite color could be blue (in my case it is!) and a boy favorite color could be pink.

I think thats the way it should. On reflection of my trip to Indonesia, half the boys there are very comfortable wearing pink, and so am I.

I would like to say blue, because it's the most common of colors that people tend to like. But from what I understand Alexei was very religious and loved his country, which makes me think red. But somethings are not what they seem, so for all we know he could of like purple or green. Maybe even yellow. :) Oh the things we could learn if we could travel through time.

I think this is right. As long as we can't find any documents in which Alexei's favourite color is mentioned, we can only speculate.

I think Reds were used quite a lot in royal homes. Before Communism, it was a very noble color. It is my favorite after all. Not saying anyone is wrong here, but despite history and events that occurred, just as Dust said, we have to speculate. His favorite color could have been anything, and the fact that we are still conversioning about this means that this topic, although an unimportant one, still should be sought out and speculated. History is amazing!

I heard somewhere (and this I'm not sure if this was the same for Imperial Russia) that purple was the color of royalty, so maybe that was it. Again, that might not have been true in Imp. Russia, just other places.

Isn't it blue in France?
