Etiquette & Manners, Everybody needs them!
« on: July 15, 2010, 08:31:46 PM »
Hello Fellow Forumers,

Etiquette and Manners, two rather very simple things. If you follow people will like you, well not necessarily. People are People, so yeah.. lol
But being serious, do you feel as if This forum particularly by a small majority of very pompous people is abusive to you, and you feel posters here do not care about people's feelings enough to actually give a non-asinine opinion? I understand people will be people no matter what happens.

I feel though, that there are people, not naming any names particularly, who think they can get away with basically murder on this forum, by being obnoxious, demeaning milksops and hasbeens. I show that as an example of the way people on this forum parade about hurting others feelings and such. I do not think it's fair we are just told to "sit and ignore" when sometimes it really never helps. The posters who have their demeaning fun-time botching others opinions, etc really need to be watched don't you think so? I am not going against the Forum Admins, or Moderators, or anyone who is of "high importance" in this forum, but something has to be done about the abuse and ridicule and horrid treatment of new members, etc... You may not agree, or just say "Why don't you go to another forum, your just wasting your time." Well I do not believe leaving a forum because of ridicule and pompous attitudes will do anything to change the state of things here.

I may be sounding offensive to those who enjoy making their insults public, and I realise It is certainly NOT EVERYBODY here who does it, on the contrary many respectful, and sincere people are very kind, and will lend a hand. :)

But there is always in any government, forum, group, click... A majority of despotic persons, who think demeaning comments and smart-a** swagger gets them to unpleasantly ridicule and make them selves Top-Dogs on the food-chain, I do not agree and certainly NOT agree with seeing it play out from time to time here on Alexander Palace Forums.

I think something needs to be said, someone needs to stand-up for those of us who are afraid, no offense to anyone who is, I may sound like I am revolting, or boycotting But I have no intention to do that at all, I love this forum, its a great place to collect fotographs discuss things about Royalty, maybe not the personal PRIVATE things, but the Palaces, yachts, trains, about the particular Royal or Imperial person, etc....

We all need Etiquette and Manners, even the posters who are pompously inclined to make insulting shows public on the victims they choose, honestly its sick, and who ever gets their kicks from it, people who root these posters on are as sick as the one's posting the insults. I wish it was a nice place on this forum, not a tomfoolery of mean, and demeaning comments, all though we have a nice side as well, the Art threads, picture threads, etc.. :)

So that's really all I have to say.
Something needs to be done, and I think it needs to be done NOW

God Bless!
Slava Bogu!

Well, there is a poster here, one who I will not name, that I've come to greatly dislike.  It seems everytime this person comes on, it's only to nitpick and criticize other posters.  This person seems to think they're the Grand Poobah of all existence. People like that really bug me.

When I was a newbie, which was only a few months ago, I had someone send dirty pm's to me. Until I put a stop to it by spelling it out to THAT person so the whole forum could see it that I'd had enough and my husband was sick of it too. It's all I could to stand up for myself.

i ve had problems with some members over here and i cant stand a few of them . I understand you, but in my cause i learned to ignore them, When you put attention and reply to them you just give em the fuel to keep the attacks. So its healthy to pass them by, cause no one will do a thing and they aint gonna change v(Which is sad but..whatever... we live in a twisted world.)

THIS behavior is not tolerated in our Forum. If after asking that person to stop once, they refuse, please copy the offensive PMs to me and I will deal with it. There is a difference between someone being rude, and someone crossing the line into sexual harassment.

I agree Katenka, That is disgusting, and that goes along with Etiquette and having it, and good manners. This forum lacks it in a majority, not a large group but some. I am happy that several of you replied. It just pains me that even if you try to ignore, They will not stop, they just feel the need to keep going and going. I really do not understand what they get out of it, except "grandpoobahness" Seriously, people like that do not belong on this forum, THIS forum should be a place of guidance, understanding, occasional debate, and friendship, not gross and harassing people, who get their personal pleasure and kicks out of demeaning and insulting others, cause they think their on their "high-horse" pedestal, and think they can abuse and hurt, demean whom ever they like....

I wish something was done already, maybe if a lot of us petition it, to ask for a feature to block someone and their ignorant postings, and such, etc... I cannot stand when a "scholarly" individual, not naming any names thinks they can beat-up mentally/and or verbally a newbie, or any person who likes history, just because no one agrees doesn't mean its fair to humiliate and call someone a demeaning name or use inappropriate language to get your point across.

But today is a different time, the age and era are different. People are not as polite as they were, no offense to anyone who reads this post. But It is very true, back then even before the Great War (World War I) 1914-1918, People had etiquette and great hospitality, and manners and didn't demean anybody. I may sound pretty old-fashioned when I talk or write like this, but I feel these etiquette and manners have fallen deeply out of regards for anyone's privacy, and enjoyment of having a good, healthy, nice, friendly experience on this forum, and this goes for other Internet communities as well.

I just think not all the posters here, but a small group of posters, again not naming any names, but I feel No one here does anything, to stop them. I may not know that much about ruling a community, and am in no means Politically inclined to talk and debate, but I feel that the abuse is getting far more worse then previously seen on this forum, people have left, people who were friends, people who cannot stand what I talk about now.

I just feel something needs to change, or more people will leave.

But anyway, those are my two cents.

God Bless! and Slava Bogu! and Prayers to you all, for it is the 16th of July, 92 years ago tommorrow morning, at around 1:00 a.m. The Romanov's were hurriedly dressed, and told to wait for transport that never came...

Keep them in your prayers, and Keep the faith alive and bright!

Praise the Lord!

Indeed something has to be done because often people that are lower on the rank in the froum can be really good at history and then hear all the rude comment because you might have worte something and then happened to ask something that has been asking before. Sure it is good to read all the pages before asking something but you can explane they might have done wrong in a nice way without get them feel so bad for asking things that has been answer.

Sweet Angels, Spasiba dear!

Thank you much for your incite! :)

It's true, it would be a good idea to skim the threads in the forum, before posting a similar one without knowing, but People who have their fun demeaning others need to be put to an end, It all needs to stop, either someone takes action, or people will leave.

God Bless!

I'm so sorry to hear that! That's just awful! I swear, what people do these days. I'm glad you got just justice by standing up for yourself! Thanks goodness that we have Forum Administrator!
A lot of sites don't, and it gets out of hand. I can't wait to be a Boyar! I know I should wait and not be haste, but it's all THIS that a lot of unnamed people are doing, and being a newbie makes it worse. I know a lot of about the Imperial Family as well, and I want to learn more, that's why I come here and ignore them.
I'm really sorry this happened to you guys too! Thanks again, may god keep you and my condolences!

Well said Gorseheart, I really do think what happened to you Lindelle was atrocious, and in my opinion beneath contempt. I think someone who thinks they can write and post nasty, grotesque, rotten pms, or postings should be dealt with immediately, and also the rude ignoramus's  as well, Thanks for replying everyone! :)

It's great and hopefully we few can make a difference! :)

God Bless!
