Yes. Marina was the most photogenic of the Royal Family at that time. Later the Princesses Elizabeth & Margaret Rose togather with Marina's daughter Princess Alexandra became more popular.

Maidstone is in Kent, and within the London commuter belt, so you should be able to get there quite easily from London by train.

Yes. Alexandra wore them as a young woman, but hasn't been seen for over 20 years. It may have been sold. Was the diamond stars a gift from her relatives ?

Indeed I will take some pictures. I wonder what more stiff on Marina apart from that portrait.
