Indeed. You can see why Alix outshines all her daughters. Another photo of the same background stood VMH, Irene and Alix of Hesse. Sad they did not all take a photo togather. Love to see Alix of Wales with Alix of Hesse togather.

There was a photo of almost the entire guests--reminiscent of the famous Coburg gathering but more spread out. They were on the patio and not steps. I have it somewhere. I can't remember where the 2 Alexandra's were in relation to one another. The photo is one of my prize 'gets'. Of course, there's the photo of some of QV's relations from a few years prior (the Schleswig-Holsteins, the Hesses, the Waleses) that's familiar. Doesn't QA have her arm around Alix in that one? I bought in on CDV but it's been reproduced on this Forum. It was just on sale on ebay last week. I think it went pretty low--since I already had it I didn't bid but a day before close it was at roughly $15.00.

There is another picture of Thyra where she was mistaken as Dagmar (it's already discussed in MF's thread). Thyra has a smaller face compared to Dagmar.

That's one of the more interesting outfits I've seen Alexandra in. Something about the way it's cut. I've always thought she was one of those women (like Princess Diana) who could look great in anything.

Alexandra still as Princess of Wales with her Daughters: (Vic)Toria, Louise (Fife) and Maud (Queen of Norway), probably in mourning for their son and brother Prince Albert Victor nee Duke of Clarence and Avondale, who died in 1892.

It's lovely, yes.  I can't see that it's "blurry" personally.  It's a good quality image, considering it was taken in the 1870s.  Eric, you may see a resemblance to Alix and Frederick Windsor, but she did not have those pale green eyes as he does.
