Prayers (grace) before meals in Orthodox culture

In all that I've read about the Romanovs and how much prayer was a part of their daily lives, I've never come across any mention of them offering a prayer of thanksgiving before meals, even during the holidays.   Is this not common in the Orthodox faith?

A member of the forum once sent me it; it's completely in russian and has so many Orthodox traditional prayers.
