The following books are online at archives.org The first 4 are by Stanley washburn correspondent for the Times they are sort of sugarcoated the russian army fighting bravely ect. One wonders why the Revolution happened?. they are easy to read and the first 3 have a number of pictures in them>
"Field Notes From the Russian Front 1914-15"
"The Russian Campaign April-August 1915"
"The Russian Offensive"
"Victory In defeat" on the Axis history Forum's First World War Section on 10 december 2010 there is the "Battle of Lake Naroch 1916' about a failed russian attack in march 1916. This was written around 1938 by a Soviet with an attitude. Some of their WW II/ GPW (Great patriotic war) histories are written in a similiar tone. It is translated by the net into english and is not the easist read in the world. However, this is the only detailed account of this battle that i know of in English which was critical because it convinced a number of Russians that the german army could not be defeated.
Also on Archives .org is the book "the Russian Turmoil' by Anton i Denikin, one of the White leaders. his account of the Russian revolution
