Imperial handwriting graphology
« on: November 29, 2010, 12:15:26 PM »
hey, just wandered if this had ever been brought up, i was looking at handwriting samples and thinking about handwriting analysis or "graphology" and how people analyse handwriting to learn more about the person, there personality etc, and i was looking up different things that you can tell from handwriting and looking at samples and wandering if anyone had ever thought about it and if you think that the imperial extracts of handwriting that we have access to are true to what graphology says?

for example, looking at tatiana's handwriting i was looking up that strong right slant with strong lines indicates confidance, leadership, and perhaps a comfort in socialising- well this would be true for tatiana wouldn't be? do you think this lies true for the others?

I don't know much about the science of it but I'd say it's entirely possible. Is it any different for Russian though? As in, are these studies only based on writing the Roman alphabet, and writing in Cyrillic is so different that it requires a different style or something like that?

apparently it doesn't matter what alphabet it is, just the way that the letters are formed, for instance the slant of the writing, height of capitals, way that signatures are written etc. good point though.

Huh, that is very interesting. Perhaps someone is an expert...  ;)
Olga's writing seems to be very casual--maybe showing her candid, open personality and dislike for pomp and manners. Wonder about Nicholas's. Here's a sample of NAOTMAA's handwriting:

i was actually looking at that handwriting sample too, as for nicky's to me it doesn't look like its consistantly slanting either way, and i was reading that a mixture of slants etc can mean difficulty in making decisions, frequently changing mind, and being inconsistant.

this may be helpful
