In my library I have a copy, edited by the St Peterburg Association of Artists. 1998. 192 pages. Some 30 pages with pictures, part of them contemporary. The picture material is not exciting. Chapters called "...When everybody was in love with Ella", "The last of the Romanovs", "Prisoners on the Krim". The book is rather small in size, a bit bigger than a pocket book. 13x20 cm. The title in russian: "Romanovy. Kak eto bylo".

But it is an interesting beautiful book with  pictures and photos, many in colour. Chapters are about   "Daria, a forgotten cousin of Nicholas II", about GD Elisabeth Feodorovna, and  an interesting chapter on the crimean captives in 1918- 19. The author, Zoia Belyakova is a  wellknown expert on the Romanovs and has written several books on this subject. So I would recommend it!

Is this book about the last century of the Romanovs? From about 1850 till the 1920?
