Thanks for the info. Always wonder about why there is so little written about Baby Bee. Didn't she used to live in Esher in England for a while ?

Yes,  she lived at Esher ... I wrote about her for Royalty Digest some years ago.  John Wimbles did a two part article on her marriage for RD.

Infanta Beatrice, her husband and their children are all buried in the crypt of the Capuchin church in Sanlucar de Barrameda.  It is on the Atlantic ocean coast near Cadiz and also near Sevilla.

Alfonso and Beatrice were not thrilled with their son's choice of wife, for despite her considerable fortune, she lacked the royal connections the couple would have wanted their eldest son and heir to marry into.  However, Alvaro and his wife lived a VERY comfortable existence.  Their children are also very intereste din their royal ancestor and the family's history and they have been excellent at cooperating with many researchers.

Are there any pictures of Pss. Beatrice's wedding? In Queen Victoria's descendants there is a picture of the happy couple leaving for their honeymoon.

Well... :P

The author is a very old Spanish lady and had the co-operation of the Bea's family, and Marlene Eilers-Konig also helped in the research. She had wrote a book on Affonso XII's tragic wife Queen Mecedes. From what I heard the book is going on slowly (she was still in 1935 timeline wise in the book.) Will keep tabs on it when it comes out...

I read the book "La Reina Mercedes", by Ana de Sagrera, is one of my favorite royal book ever, it is incredible so the one she is writing on Bee must be a great one, let´us hope she will no take too much time.

I had the impression that Baby Bee stirred up trouble all the time for Ena. I was surprised that this was so, as one would have thought that 2 British princesses would support each other.  I donot recall the title of the book, but it was the Life of Queen Ena.
I felt from my reading that Bee was jealous, as Ena had the higher rank.

Nothing can be further from the truth ! Baby Bee was the rich girl (remember her mother was a Russian grand duchess) and Ena was the poor relative. However Marie Coburg strike out a friendship with her husband's youngest sister (hense Bee was named after her). Baby Bee and Ena grew up as close cousins (being a few that were close to their age). When Alfonso XIII came to look for a bride, Bee was releived that she was not chosen (after all she was still recovering from Misha, and refuse to become Catholic). However Ena was able to persade her to go with them on their honeymoon ! It was in Spain that Bee met her future husband Ali (Infante Alfonso of Bourbon-Orleans).

What a shame!

So if Bee did not stir up trouble for Ena, how did that rumour start?? I read Alfonsos mother asked Bee to leave the country.  ???
