I do hope that she will finish it on time. She is quite elderly and writes slowly.  :(

I think the rumour was that she dabbled or involved in politics (rather than invloved herself with Alfonso XIII). Have to wait and read the book.  ::)

Ana de Sagregra is very elderly and she takes her time.  The book has been under preparation for the last few years.

By the time Don Alvaro amrried his branch was politically VERY unimportant, although his grandparents' marriage was weaved out the web's of political duty. Of course, this took place even before Alfonso XIII was born, and even after that there was talk of putting Eulalia and Antoine on the Spanish throne should the young king die.

Does anyone have an address or any form of communication with the present Duc de Galliéra or any of his closest relatives? I'd like to get in touch.

Some time ago one of you posted some photos from the Count of Paris' book. These images were from the wedding of the Infante don Carlos and Princess Louise d'Orléans.

We had wondered who Infante don Alfonso de Orléans-Borbón was walking next to and who was the man in Eastern European costume walking behind them was.

Last week as I was working with Prince Michael of Greece in Paris, I came across a photo album owned by his late grandmother, the Duchesse de Guise – sister of Louise d'Orléans – in which she had identified the people in the photos.  The lady walking next to the Infante Alfonso is identified as ex-Kronprinzessin Stephanie, whle the man walking behind Alfonso and Stephanie is identified as Prince Witold Czartoryski, second son of Princess Marguerite d'Orléans-Nemours (1846-1983), who was the second wife of Prince Wladislaw Czartoryski (1828-1894).

Yes. And Baby Bee was standing behind Ena, and Ali was behind her. It was one of the few times that Baby Bee gets to wear her mother's Russian fringe tiara.  ::)

The wedding was in March 9 1929. It had been temporarily postponed due to the death of Queen Mother Marie Christina, the bride's grandmother, and also of her aunt-by-marriage Princess Gabrielle of Bourbon Two Sicilies. Because of this, the marriage was also a 'strictly private' affair. The couple honeymooned in Andalucia.

Thanks. Baby Bee's marriage was a lot happier than Ena's but I imagine she was frustated for not being a Queen. She was more 'blue blooded' than most of the princesses of her time but had to put up with being 'only' a Duchess. :-\
