According to today's Daily Mail, this miniature has been positively identified by David Starkey and specialists
.
The jewel (brooch) has been identified as belonging to her and the spray of foliage at the back of the brooch is the Dudley badge.
Almost forgot to add....she is Lady Jane Grey.

Hi Kim, I've just noticed your scary Clytemnestra atavar!

We've seen this before with Tudor portraits! The only connection with Jane seems to be the age of the subject 17-18, which according to Starkey means that Jane was older than we've always thought! I suppose that's possible, but it's all circumstantial (including the jewellery) evidence. Even if the name Jane was there, which it isn't), there were dozens of Janes to choose from, as we've already discussed somewhere. So I'm sceptical...

Did anyone notice that Liz Hurley was having the first part of her wedding at Kate Parr's old place, Sudeley Castle?

I don't know.. Didn't they do this once before (id her by her jewel) and turned out to be wrong? What makes them so sure now? If this is indeed LJ, she is not at all as I imagined her!

That's what I had in mind, but I forgot and was thinking the reverse, that they id'ed her as Jane by her jewels... I wonder how reliable this jewel identification is... After all, it's not like these jewels are surgically attached to them! Seems a little odd to put so much stock into it...

I'm no good at comparing these old images.  Could they both possibly be Lady Jane?  Are the similarities due to the style of the time or are the differences due to the different style of the artists?
