Certainly, the civil suit became well to Charles, contrary to number of his royal cousins who had look only in uniform.

Karl was an interesting fellow, although I don't think of him as a saint (which he is in the Catholic Church)...

Karl has not reached canonization, therefore his not a Catholic saint. He is "blessed" worthy of veneration.

Thanks for clearing that out. My problem is that how is he "worthy" of veneration ?

Eric. as I understand it, you are Orthodox.  Well, "veneration" means the same thing in both faiths. I was Eastern rite, or Uniate.
Karl is worthy because he  was known to be a "peacemaker". I am sure you know his history.  In the Roman Church, he is worthy and faithful, but not a conduit to pray to. [or through. to be theollogically correct] So, it is OK to light a candle in his memory, just as one might do for anyone one  admires. However, he is not to be expected to intervene in your prayers.

Well...I think you need two miracles to be made into a saint in the Catholic Church. Like they are fast tracking Pope John Paul II. I think he is on the steps of being made into a saint, although you say he is not there yet...In the Orthodox Church, if you die for your faith (like Ella) or in your faith (like the family of Nicholas II) you became a saint.

You are mistaken about the miracles, Eric. Anyone who dies in the Faith is a saint. With or without canonization. It just means  you [or whomever] is in communion with god in heaven. Sainthood is an honorific title. A recognition, if you like.

Maybe in the Orthodox Church but most certainly not in the Catholic Church. The recent veneration of Pope John Paul II is quite public and the two miracles are needed in the Catholic Church, you are quite mistaken about that. There are quite a few reports on that.
