I think Duck is wearing her emerald wedding tiara with her floral headdress.

I like very much that 'flower' session! Wonder how many photos were taken then...Thanks, Laura, for sharing!

It was my pleasure to share the pictures, and I'm glad you liked them, Svetabel! I've only seen these 2 so far, but I'm sure there are more of both Marie and Victoria Melita from that session.

They were both very attractive although Ducky looked sad in most of them.

Where on earth did you get that wonderful photo of Marie & Victoria Melita? I had seen most of the photos from that session of her alone but never even thought that someone else was part of it! Is it from a book or magazine? There seemed to be some writing showing through. If so, that's one to add!

A magazine (Munsey's?) once did an article using some from this sitting--I think it was Beautiful Women and Barbaric Jewels or something like that.

Grandduchessella, all the photos of Marie and of Victoria Melita from the ''Flowers'' and from the ''Princesse Lointaine'' sessions that I posted these days come from old magazines.

You can find the photo of Marie and Victoria Melita also in Diana Mandache's Dearest Missy book though. There is also another very similar photo of the two sisters from the '' Princesse Lointaine'' session in Marie of Romania - Images of a Queen, a photo album on Queen Marie also by Diana Mandache.

The flower one of the head has been in postcards. The one with the dress (or full size) has not been seen since.

There should be more photos of the two of them from that 'Flowers' session at The National Archives of Romania or at the National Library of Romania.

There are at least 4-5 pics/each of all the others photo sessions of the 1890' Cotroceni fancy dress balls.

I hope we get to see more photos from that particular session. I love the black & white contrast of their gowns. I believe that contrast suited them perfectly. In every sense of the word.

BTW, ''the flowers'' I suppose were lilies ( ? the gowns look like representations of lilies, imo) ... Marie's favourites!  :)

I don't know if Missy kept all her clothes. Quite a few of them were on display.

I agree, but I don't think it was posted before. My favourite photograph from that session is the one in which they look at one another.
