Amsterdam has the annual Canal Swim,a stretch of little over 2000 meters right throught the canals, and today is the day!
The event is in support of ALS,a neuro related disease I think we all heard about, and really is one of the most cruel imaginable.
In support many wellknown Dutchmen- and women take part,so Princess Máxima is in the water right now too,
a first time for her but she's there and she does it!!Great example Máxima!!
Nuestra chica latina!!There is none-such among her equals..regardless what anyone says....LOL....!
And Princess Máxima finished with pride and was welcomed by her daughters and hubby after the 2000 meter
race!!Fantastic Máxima, what an example and encouragement in the fight against ALS!Gracias carina!
600.000 Euro was raised this afternoon for research for the ALS Foundation!!!

Apparently Mary of Denmark was involved in a swim too a couple of days ago, reason for a mod of the CoM at
one of the frumpyer pretty pictures only boards to put irony before a good cause in stating she sort of "eeewd"..when she first read it...
something most dutch posters did while reading THAT.....Oh well,if that's what one needs to get attention..voila..
Máxima had been training for the 2028 meters swim for weeks at the national swim stadium in Eindhoven and was trained
by the National Team Coach Verhaer and Olympic Gold Medal winner Pieter van de Hoogenband since before this summer.
Long before a girl in Denmark touched water or probably even planned it...The Chair of the CanalSwim is Mark ter Haer,a dear
friend of the CP Couple and a best man for Alexander at the wedding.Mr ter Haer organised this all months ago and Máxima
was immediatly enthousiastic about the idea and the cause and wanted to join in,and did.She was joined by Mrs ter Haer,Marks wife,
both wearing the same colour swim-suit and orange cap.The Princess finished in 50 minutes which is very well considering the place,
after all,it's canals. They're quite clean actually,no sewers that spew their whatever it can be into them any longer, but still, participants
were advised to take a tetanus shot afterwards in case they gobbled in too much water..
It wasn't such a great weekend in all fields for the dutch CP Couple as their Labrador got in an accident during a duck-hunt in
the east of the country. The dog was immediatly taken to a vet but seems to be in a severe condition.Poor thing!
