The Family will travel to Argentina for Christmas and New Year and have planned a photo-shoot on december 23rd in Villa la Angostura,
they're home from home when in Argentina.

Not so sure if there will be a photo-shoot at all today since the Copahue vulcano is spitting ashes and rocks on the Chilean / Argentine bordewr and flights to and fro Bariloche have been cancelled....So a few of the crucial persons in the shoot might not make it there today....
That said,...the dutch photographers might not be back home here by Christmas eve either....A day of sorts today..

Several of the ships will be deployed to Somalia soon in the fight against

I open a thread dedicated to the (near future) Royal Couple as a introduction visit,their first,was announced today.

TM will pay a State Visit to Germany from june 3rd till june 6th.Originally planned as a official visit to Hessen
and Baden-Württemberg,plans had to be altered due to HM Queen Beatrix's Abdication on april 30th.
Yet,it is announced as an introductionary visit with a with calling in on President Gauck in Berlin and the rest of
the program will be under view.

Within the first two months after the Enthonement TM will visit all the 12 Provinces,they will visit two Provinces a day.
Visits to the Dutch Caribbean are scheduled later this year.

HRH The Prince of Orange will open the exhibition on Peter the Great on friday march 8th at the Hermitage,Amsterdam.

The exhibition is set in the frame of three jubilees:

The Netherlands - Russia Year 2013
The 400th anniversary of the Canals of Amsterdam
The 525th anniversary of the Royal Dutch Navy

Peter lived here and worked here building ships,the start of the impressive Navy he founded in Russia.

The exhibition will show paintings,gold treasures,costumes,weaponry and special documents regarding Pjotr
that give an inside view of the life,work and passions of Peter the Great.

Alexander and Máxima host the last of the Crown Princes weekends at Het Oude Loo Castle this weekend,the last
of these gatherings in its present form as Alexander will ascend the Throne as the first of his generation.

Except Frederik who is participating in a sportevent this weekend,and CP Mette Marit who is elsewhere,
everyone else is here,Mary,Stephanie and Guillaume,Victoria and Daniel,Felipe and Letizia,Filip and Mathilde.

Stepping up to ascending the Throne on april 30th HRH The Prince of Orange on his own request resigned from active duty as a Commander of the Royal Dutch Navy as well as all his ranks in the Army and Airforce as was announced by the Ministry of Defence the Prince was sent off with all honours.

The Prince stated that as a Monarch he will maintain the Duties,traditions and Honours of the Forces.

Two days later the Princess was in Rome again but this time in her function as UN SG Special Advocate on Inclusive Finance for Development
at the FAO / IFAD HQ.

This past week the Princess was in Bali,Indonesia and held talks with Indonesian President Yudhoyono.
HRH adressed the meeting of the UN SG High Level Panel on the Post 2015 Development Agenda.

The King and Queen will pay a one day visit to Luxembourg on may 24th,
a three day visit to Germany from june 4th till the 6th,and after the summmer
this will be followed by a visit to Belgium.

It will not be State Visits as HM Queen Beatrix has very recently done that,
Luxembourg and Belgium will be "Introductory" visits,while the visit to Germany
is in the frame of an long-planned economic mission to Hessen and Baden-Württemberg mainly.
