HRH Princess Máxima celebrates her 40th birthday today.In the morning she will hand-out the annual Apples of Orange for projects enhancing social cohesion and funded by the Orange Fund,of which she and her husband are Patrons.HM The Queen and The Prince of Orange will be in attendance.

Last night TRH attended the Memorial concert organised by the Japan - The Netherlands foundation to commemorate the victims
of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan last march.Also in attendance were Mr. and Mrs Owada,the parents of HIH Crown Princess Masako.
Mr Owada is the Chief Justice of the International Criminal Court.HE the ambassador of HM the Emperor delivered a speech.

Princess Máxima,UN SG Special Advocate on Inclusive Finance,was appointed Honorary Patron of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion
by request of the UN SG Ban Ki Moon and due to her outstanding expertise in the field.It will be her job to enhance the synergie between the UN
and the G20 in the Financial field.

In her new capacity as Honorary Patron,which doesn't mean sitting up and looking pretty to Máxima,she made a trip to Mexico city the past days where
she had talks with President Calderon and Finance Minister Codero as well as bankers and representatives of micro-credit organisations & projects.
Mexico will host the 2012 G20 Summit.


This morning TRH attended Holy Mass at Rotterdam Cathedral on occasion of the retirement of HE Drs.A. van Luyn,Bishop of Rotterdam.

Veterans Day 2011.

HRH The Prince of Orange took the salute of the 70000 veterans,from the days of WW II,Korea and up to the present day mission in Afghanistan.
All in all we have over 100.000 veterans,but then many are aged and unfortunately unable to attend.

The Princess,UN Secretary General's Special Advocate on Inclusive Finance for Development,attended and speeched at the
annual Meeting of the IMF and the World Bank,Washington DC september 23rd.

At present the Princess,Honanrary Chair of the G20 GPFI Forum,is attending the meeting at the
Riviera Maya,opened by Mexican President Calderon on friday .

It is among the tasks of the Princess in that function to enhance the synergy between the UN and the G20 Summits.
