I searched around but I couldn't find anything like this... sorry in advance if I'm wrong. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone looks at any characters in movies, books, tv shows, etc., and thinks that they're like a certain Romanov.
My examples are silly, but they got me thinking, so I'll post them anyway. I was watching the Little Mermaid out of some childhood nostalgia, and Ariel's constant swooning over Eric reminded me of Maria. So then I decided to make a little game and see if I could compare any of the other Disney princesses to her sisters. It's a bit hard to find exact personality traits, but I think Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) is definitely like Olga. "Nose stuck in a book," devotion to her father, etc. When I was trying to think of one for Tatiana, I remembered how during the war she wrote that she was sorry she wasn't a man, because she could be more useful. So then obviously I thought of Mulan. I don't really know if that character's personality really matches Tatiana though, other than the sense of duty. And that they both sported hair shorter than the social norms for women of their time! Also the scene at the beginning of the movie where Mulan sees two children stealing a girl's doll and returns it to the girl reminds me of Tatiana's "governess" ways. Anastasia is especially difficult, because she already has her own animated princess incarnation. But it's not a Disney princess. The only thing I could come up with is kind of an odd choice - Pocahontas. Her name itself meant "little mischief," while Anastasia was nicknamed "imp," and a lot of Pocahontas's daring/wild behaviors at the beginning of the movie remind me of Anastasia. Though the marriage dilemma thing reminds me more of Olga, since she was the only sister to whom that could really apply.
Anyway, they're not perfect examples, and this thread isn't just "Which Disney princesses fit OTMA," it's whatever characters you want and whatever Romanovs you want. Have you ever read a book and imagined any of the characters as looking like a Romanov? Things like that.
