I know there's a lot out there, but doe anyone know for sure what is the last Formal picture of Alexei Romanov?

Good question. However, the whole IF was photographed in Tobolsk in early 1918, I don't know if those shots were formal ones (According to the movie ' Romanovy- Ventsenosnaya Semya', those shots were formal, I believe in Russian sources), but indeed the photo of Tsarevich and his father was taken in late 1915, before Alexei's almost -fatal nose-bleeding prior to 1916 (late, in December of 1915).  1916 formal shots of his sisters do exist, however, I am not aware of any formal of him from 1916. He only appeared in Russian military magazines/newspapers during the WW1. but remember his photos before the cannon and the tree, taken in 1916? Also, may we label these as 'formal'?

Thank you all! Here I was thinking that formal pictures was all gowns and royal uniforms. :)

Thank you all! I really wanted a picture of Alexis to draw, and I wanted it to be his last formal photo. :)

Uh, it is hard to tell, I have seen one labeled to have been painted in 1917 :

Yes, tsarevich was painted several times by some artist during Nicholas' reign.
