Mannergeym

To what and where in Tsarskoe Selo lived Baron?

Please post in English, as that is the common language of the Forum. I can only surmise from the subject line that you are asking about someone named "Mannerheim"?

Yes he is and wants to know where in Tsarskoe Selo Baron Mannerheim lived while he worked at the Imperial Court Stables Administration.

While still enlisted in the Chevalers-Gardes’ Regiment, Mannerheim, was indeed attached to the Imperial Court Stables Administration from 1897 until 1903. The Russian Wikipedia states that in 1897 he received 2 appartments : one in Tsarskoe Selo and another one in St. Petersburg (where the Administration offices were located):

http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9C%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B3%D0%B5%D0%B9%D0%BC,_%D0%9A%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%BB_%D0%93%D1%83%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%B2_%D0%AD%D0%BC%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C

In a 2005 Hermitage Exhibition Catalogue about Mannerheim, their is a photo of the Moïka River Embankment with a text that says Mannerheim lived in the appartment building located at Moïka River Embankment No. 29. This wasn’t far from the Court Stables Administration (Koniushennaya Square, No.1 /Moïka River Embankment No. 4).

As for his appartment in Tsarskoe Selo, I found his address on a very interesting site (unfortunately in Russian only) which has a lot of information & photos regarding the history of Tsarskoe Selo: his appartment was located at Tserkovnaya St., No.7.

I have asked Nemos to post in English many times.  I have also sent him/her a PM and asked him/her privately to do this.

My Google Toolbar automatically translates all languages into English, I could uncheck the translate box to stop it.  So when I click onto any Russian site, I have instant English.

That sound like a great add-on.  I don't have that on my Google Task Bar, but I am going to look into it.

However, that doesn't mean that Nemos or anyone else can post in a language other than English.  That is the Forum rule.
