Yes, Alexei would have been embarassed that there was a thread on this, and he would most likely have had it corrected, and might have had children, which was important in view of the dynasty.

I don't understand why so many people here are so...immature.  ::)I'm 13...and I', not complaining, but everyone is different, I suppose.
As for this topic, it's only fair that we discuss every single detail about Aleksei; if not, we don't learn anything.
And isn't is spelt Chryptorchidism? with an R?? not Cryptochidism......

Well, it is important to discuss everything, but some topics put some people off, for whatever reason. It is best to be mature though.

But for those out there that know about this condition;

Would Aleksei still have the standard male...er, incidents that other males experience during his span of age?
for instance, "wet dreams", being "sexually aroused", er, all of those.  ;) ???
Would it effect his puberty? I don't think it would, but I'd like to know for sure.

I don't really know, although I am thinking it would not have.

I won't post the site that I got this information from, because it has some pictures with nudity that some people may be offended by, but I found this:

Quote
The rationale for treatment of the undescended testicle is the prevention of potential sequelae. The most common problems associated with undescended testicles are testicular neoplasm, subfertility, testicular torsion and inguinal hernia.

That's a bit too "medical-termy" for me, I'm not sure what it means, but there are some effects...I couldn't find anything that had to do with puberty.

This kind of problems have to be cured, before the boy's 3rd birthday. I'm afraid Alexei shouln't like this kind of discussions about his person, he isn't there anymore and cannot defend himself!  >:(

Do you think Aleksandra would want us discussing any mental problems we think she might have had? Would Aleksandra want us seeing pictures of her and her daughters showing their feet and legs? There are lots of topics they probably would not have liked, but we duscuss them anyway.

About Aleksey defending himself, why would he need to? We aren't insulting him. A medical condition is nothing to be ashamed about.

I think, you cannot compare his sisters problems with the physical privacy of this boy, they just don't like their private parts, being talked about, which should be respected, although I must admit, I'm living in the Netherlands, which has a quite different culture than the U.S.A., privacy is a great right, here, strictly protected by the Dutch Law, for example, the Dutch Royal Family is succesfully sewing the Dutch tabloids, which has big consequences for them!

But we shouldn't not talk about something just because the IF wouldn't like it. Half the threads wouldn't be here. It would be different if the discussion we were having was stupid, like the thread we had awhile ago about Nikolai and Aleksandra's sex life. But this thread has value, in my opinion. I'm interested in ANY medical problems the IF may have had.

This forum is dedicated to the open discussion of the FACTS of history.  First, there is no debate that Alexei did have this affliction. He did. We can't hide nor ignore it.  So, the reasonable and proper discussion of it is permitted. Alexei has gone on to a better place and I have no doubt is not troubled by something as trivial as the discussion of yet another frailty of his once mortal form.
