Yes, he used the villa as a place to gather the family.

That must be before Alexander III sprayed him with a water hose.

What happen to the villa now ? Did George I sold it or still in the family ? What is it now used for ?

It dosn't exist anymore, and George I sold the villa in 1911.

King George bought the villa in 1888, but never used it for longer stays. The building was demolished in the years 1969-1970.

Sad. It would have been good to maintain it as the Greeks would have loved to have a Danish home during their later exile years. Was that place ever considered a place to install the Russian Dowager Empress ? Any inside shots of the castle ?

Thanks for the Grand Duke Alexander arrival painting ? Where is the painting now ? I went to the national gallery at Copenhagen and didn't see it. Maybe in private collection ?

No, the building was sold in 1911, and I don't have any photos of the inside.

Priceless as always kmerov! Some of this movies were just in the splendid documentairy 'A Royal Family' by Anna Lerche. At least the first one and the one were several grandchildren of Christian IX and Louise ride their bikes in front of the camera. Great to them so vibrant and alive and to see 'real' expressions in their face. Thank you very much for sharing!
