Graves of the Yusupovs

There used to be a website devoted to various views of it, but I can't find it now. I did save this picture, but it doesn't show the entire scene:



In other pictures, you could clearly see that this grave looks like a grave for only one person. There are other graves beside and behind it, and a gravel road to its right. If there were an underground crypt, there would be no room for it. All I can think of is that the bodies are buried on top of each other does anyone know how this works in European cemetaries?

You can see that Zenaida, Felix, Irina, Bebe and her husband are buried there, that's five people, how?

Also of note that "Old Felix" is not buried there, though some bios say Zenaida was 'buried next to her husband' she was not. I saw other reports that Old Count Felix was buried in Italy, he died while they were living there in 1928.

Any info would be appreciated!

The grave is proably vaulted (ie bricked around to a great depth). This would mean that a number of people can be buried one on top of each other. My own father's grave is vaulted for up to three people. In some places the local cemetery authority allow much deeper. I was once told of a grave where up to 6 people could be buried so it must have been very deep....No doubt this was the case with the Youssoupoff family.....

Any details please of its whereabouts (in Rome?) the inscription indeed if it is in a Russian cemetery or at least a Russian/orthodox section?

All I could find was that it's in Cimitero Acattolico in Rome.

I wonder if his sister Alexandra (Madame Miliutiun) who died in Rome in 1936 is buried anywhere near..

The picture above shows where they would have been buried had the Revolution not occured.

Does anyone know if the plan was to move just Nicholas's body or was there talk of moving Tatiana Yusupov's body too?
