I'm not sure if any of you would have seen this portrait before ?

It was painted by Johannes Linse (1875-1930)

I've never seen this image before. Where did you find it? It looks like an older Felix...when was it painted? Do you have a date?

It was in Christie's Spring Russian sale in March.
I'm afraid I didn't take much interest as it's fairly vulgar from a painterly point of view.
I would guess though that it was painted both from life and from photographs. The costume being modelled on the very famous photograph of Pr. Yussupov.

I believe 27 September is the 40th anniversary of Felix death.Seen the usual pictures of the funeral.Any others?Or perhaps pictures of Felix and Irina at about that time?

Why honor a man who was involved in a brutal cold-blooded murder?

Well if you want to put it that way,how many deaths was the Tsar responsible for?Strange.Rather off the topic Belochka.Any pictures of Felix or Irina late in life?

Your question is off topic Victor!

Hope you enjoy viewing the photos posted on this Forum of Felix Yusupov who unlike his victim was able to enjoy life in his later years.

Didn't mean to start an arguement Beloshka.Actually I do enjoy looking at photos of Felix and I think you're right that he enjoyed life in his later years.I was simply asking if there are any previously unposted pictures of him near the end of his life, hardly off the topic and particularly relevant at the moment.ALL Felix's photos,I beg you.

There are several pics of him old, even dead, in this thread. Also some of them old in the Irina thread.

I am still not convinced Felix delivered the fatal shot to Rasputin. Sure he liked bragging about his involvement, but how much was accurate? His and Puriskevitch's stories match, but maybe they planned it that way. Other evidence disagrees with them both. Of course shooting him once, and conspiring to bring him to his house to kill him is enough to get you life in prison in the US, but I think the shot that killed him came from someone who was a much better marksman, like Dmitri. Felix hated guns and hunting, Puriskevitch was a bad shot, who gave him the one between the eyes? Dmitri or the British agent? I hope the Rasputin trial thread  will  continue someday, I want to see what conclusions are reached by our members.
